Introduction of Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics is information of technology dealing with the
maintenance and use of data molecule
biology using computers inshort it is the impormation of technology applied to
molecular biology.
“Bio”Means living and “Informatics”means information of
Science.
Bioinformatics involves the collection maintenance
,distribution,analysis and usage of the large amout of data generated in
molecular biology for biological investigation. Bioinformatics is rather young discipline ,bridging the life and computer science.
Types of Sequences uses in Bioinformatics.
In Bioinformatics query sequences is submitted to database to get search result from them to interpet that query sequence.There are there three basic types of sequence .There are----
(a) DNA Sequence.
(b)RNA Sequence.
(c) Protein Sequence.
(a)DNA sequence :- DNA Sequence are send as queries to the existing nucleotide database to analyse that sequence in the light of database files.BLAST and FASTA interface are very usefull to analyze the DNA sequence of genomic DNA or a copy DNA.Analyze for the DNA data given below are -
(i)Which gene has the DNA sequences as its component.
(ii)In which organism it occures .
(iii)Location of query sequence stored in database.
(b)RNA Sequences:- are send as queries to the existing nucleotide database to get all the existing nucleotide database to get all information about the queries in the light of database files.BLAST and FASTA interfaces are analysis .Provide databse are -
(i)Organism produced that RNA.
(ii)Fire structure of the RNA.
(iii)Introns and exoons of the RNA.
(iv)Protein coded by the RNA.
(c)Protein Sequence:- Amino acids of proteins are sequenced in the laboraory to detect amino acid sequences of importants proteins.Protein Sequence database are-
(i)Secondary structure of target protein.
(ii)B-O Structure of the interaction.
(iii)Post translational modification in the protein.
(iv)Active sites on the the protein.
